Water Knowledge
"Everyone has a responsibility to maintain our ecological water system since it is what feeds the rest of nature. We should all bear some sort of responsibility and sense of discipline so that all living things can prosper and the next generations have the same opportunities to enjoy our environment"
Once rain or snow falls to earth, water starts to collect impurities. The natural filtration process of water hits porous rocks and collects chemicals like iron, magnesium and calcium. 80% of the earth is made up of water but only 0.3% can be harnessed and consumed. While our water supply remains, nature cannot keep up with man’s consumption, contamination and pollution. This fragile resource is being compromised and the addition of brine to the ecological system from water softeners has some cities passing laws to ban the systems.
45 Billion pounds of sewage waste enters our water system annually. Municipalities continue to fall below safe standards for drinking water and recent scares with pharmaceuticals being found in drinking water across the country are an additional thing causing alarm over the contamination of our water supply. No one is safe if they rely solely on their local water company’s management of their drinking water to FDA standards. That’s why 47% of people won’t drink unfiltered water. Would you? | |
